Chipmunks
Strawberries

Okay, so the chipmunks have officially been classified as "rather naughty."

I don't mind them eating the strawberries. They live here too. But I wish they would just pick a few and eat the whole things and leave the rest of the berries.

I was watching one of them today--without being seen myself--and the little guy was taking a bite of one berry, leaving it hanging, and then taking a bite of the next one. Mmmmmm?

I walked out, and he darted off, but I know he'll be back. I wish I could explain myself to him.

"Just pick a few and take them."

Ah well. Such is the nature of chipmunks.

Can you pick a few, toss them into chipmunk territory, and put plastic mesh over the rest?

Hi Melissa!

Yes . . . J.C. and I are debating some possible plans. The thing is, I don't know if they would eat "picked" strawberries. They seem to like them on the vine.

And these two little chipmunks are so cute. You would just die if you saw them.

But we might leave two or three plants uncovered and do something with the rest of them--or we'll have no strawberries this summer (smiles).

Strawberries are like apples. The first bite is the most delicious.

Also, inquiring minds want to know: how would the chipmunks upgrade their class to "very naughty?"

Hey Anna!

Great icon.

So, here's the breakdown.

They were "mildly naughty" yesterday.

They are "rather naughty" today.

If I go out tomorrow and find a bite out of every strawberry, they will be upgraded to "very naughty."
